Being part of the Change Management Institute has been an incredible opportunity for both my career and personal growth. It has provided me with valuable opportunities to connect with a diverse network of change professionals, broaden my expertise, and develop as a leader. The relationships and knowledge I’ve gained have been beneficial in shaping my journey in change management.
Being named Volunteer of the Year is an honour. It’s a recognition that reflects not just my contributions but the collective efforts of a passionate and dedicated community. I was fortunate to join as a volunteer at the beginning of this chapter, witnessing
firsthand how it has grown. Seeing a vision take shape, through collaboration, commitment, and the enthusiasm of our members, has been both inspiring and rewarding.
The impact we make, whether through events, knowledge-sharing, or supporting fellow practitioners, is what makes being involved so worthwhile. Knowing that we are helping others navigate change and advance their careers is fulfilling.
I’m incredibly grateful to be part of such a supportive and inspiring network, and I encourage anyone passionate about change to get involved. The more we contribute, the stronger our community becomes!
The field of Change Management is at times arduous fraught with unique challenges. The Change Management Institute community takes the time to listen and support each other whether through regular Chats or through multiple events in the field. Being voted as volunteer of the year for Canada, amongst the other brilliant volunteers in our chapter is very humbling. At this time in my career it is a great opportunity to give back to others in this profession.
Volunteering for the Change Management Institute has significantly impacted my career in numerous ways. By supporting a recognised and respected industry body, I have gained access to invaluable peer-to-peer support and the opportunity to network with industry leaders. This exposure has allowed me to source key speakers who share their insights and experience, which has been instrumental in enhancing my knowledge and confidence to apply new concepts. Additionally, the experience has enabled me to bring my learning back to my day job as Head of Change (and Head of the XGovernment Change Management Community of Practice), further enriching my professional development.
Being named Volunteer of the Year is a fabulous honour as I am aware of the great work of the wider volunteer group and their dedication to the field of change management. The opportunity to share my passion for change management, support professional development (including my own), and bring together a community within my region is both a pleasure and a privilege. I am grateful to those who nominated me, and this recognition is greatly appreciated. It reinforces my commitment to developing a collaborative and supportive environment for all change professionals.
I have been working in business change and transformation as a freelance Senior Change Practitioner for over a decade in the UK, delivering both operational and strategic projects for several blue-chip companies.
I joined the Change Management Institute UK several years ago, and just over a year ago, I began volunteering for the Event Committee. My primary motivation for offering pro bono work at the Institute is to network with top professionals in our discipline and
stay informed about global developments in change management. Additionally, the Institute helps me maintain my focus on one of my key values—continuous learning—by providing numerous opportunities for professional development and the exploration of new subjects
that may not directly relate to my daily work but have always piqued my interest.
I am very proud to have been recognized as Volunteer of the Year in the UK in 2024. This recognition has been personally fulfilling and has significantly enhanced my professional reputation and credibility in the market.
